Sunday Thoughts

I enjoyed the sermon at church very much today. The priest told this story:
A man strung a tightrope across Niagara Falls and as a crowd gathered he walked across the tightrope and back again. The crowd was very apprehensive when he started to walk across but as he came back and neared the starting point again they cheered and praised him.
So he asked the crowd if they thought he could walk across blindfolded? They crowd was not sure he could do it and watched as he put on the blindfold and started out across the rope. As he turned and headed back to the start they cheered loudly.
He hooped off the rope and asked the crowd if they thought he could cross the rope blindfolded and pushing a wheelbarrow? The crowd was very unsure about this but cheered the man on. Despite the crowds doubt he put on the blindfold and headed across the rope pushing the wheelbarrow. As he turned around and headed back to the waiting crowd a huge cheer erupted. They were ecstatic.
Back safely on the ground he looked at the crowd and asked do you think I can cross the tightrope blindfolded, pushing the wheelbarrow with one of you in the wheelbarrow?
Silence
As humans do we trust God enough to hoop in that wheelbarrow? Everyday the opportunity arises to put our trust God but  most of the time we just charge off on our own thinking that we can control any situation. Sometimes this works for us  but when it doesn't we get frustrated.
So maybe the next time God offers us a ride in that wheelbarrow we should really think about taking him up on that offer.
